Celebrations 2013-14

TEEJ FESTIVAL

Teej Festival was celebration by Nursery and Prep students on 8^th August’13.  The fragrance of mehndi filled up the air as our little princesses festooned their mehndi and wore colourful bangles.  Boys too became a part of the celebrations as they got badges and tattoos on their hand.

 

INDEPENDENCE DAY

 Independence Day was celebrated in school on 14 August, 2013. The national flag hoisting ceremony was performed by the Management Committee Members.  The teachers revered the supreme sacrifice by the freedom fighters.  The students of the school presented a colourful cultural programme based on patriotism.

JANAMASTMI

As part of Janmashtami Celebration in our school, the students of class VI-B on 26^th August 2013 presented a skit -‘Gobardhan Parvath’ depicting the various stages of Lord Krishna’s life from birth to adulthood.  The tiny tots of Prep Pearls performed a dance programme dressed up as Krishna’s and beautiful Gopies transforming the entire stage into Vrindavan.

SCHOOL FETE

One of the most awaited event of the year, the Annual Fete of B.I.S. was organised on the Christmas Eve being a colourful riot of songs, dance, food and fun with various stalls being set by the teachers and volunteer students, playing several games with the D.J playing in the backdrop.

ANNUAL SPORTS MEET 

Brain International School, Vikaspuri celebrated its Annual Sports Meet on Sunday, 9^th Feb 14 at Chhatrasal Stadium. The occasion was graced by the chief guest, Mahabali Shri Satpal; the Guest of Honour ,Mr. Arjun  Vajpai ;the Chairman, Mr.B.L Sharma; the Vice Chairman,Mr.N.L Gupta;the Secretary, Mr. Suresh  Goyat; the Principal of BrainKids, Mrs Raman Mittal; the School Principal, Mrs Seema Behl and the Headmistress, Mrs Raina Bajaj. Opening ceremony was a feast to watch, wherein the students brought forth the cheer by welcoming the guests. The cultural bonanza in the form of Dumble –Drill, Bhangra Aerobics etc. enthralled the audience, followed by the grand closing ceremony by all the students and vote of thanks by the Headmistress.

SUBJECT WEEKS

Hindi Week

6^th May 2013 to 11^th may 2013 was observed as Hindi Week. During this period, the students were encouraged to speak in Hindi. A number of literary events such as recitation, quizzes on life and works of famous writers in Hindi and “Hasya Kavi Sammelan” were held.

S.St. Week 

The school celebrated S.ST Week from 22^nd July to 26^th July. During this time various competition like Best out of Waste, Quiz competition etc were organised and students exhibited their talent and came out with creative ideas.

IT WEEK

In order to emphasize on the importance of the Internet and Computing age, an IT Week was observed in B.I.S. from 7th to 10th October' 13 holding competitions like Techno Wrapping, Role play on personalities, Best out of waste, Movie making etc for students at all levels.

MATHS WEEK

11^th November 2013 – 16^th November 2013 was dedicated to Mathematics. The events of the week were designed to evoke students’ interest in the subject and understand its application in our everyday life.

ENGLISH WEEK

In order to emphasize on the importance of English Language, an English Week was observed in B.I.S. from 16th to 21st December' 13 holding competitions like Calligraphy, Spin a Yarn, Debate competition, Poetry Recitation/Composition ,Poster making etc for students at all levels.

  



SCIENCE WEEK

In order to develop a scientific temperament amongst all the students the Science Week was celebrated in BIS from 20^th to 23^rd January’14.  The students showed immense enthusiasm and zeal through their collective participation.
